Pre-Planning a Funeral

Many people are deciding to make arrangements for their own funeral in advance, which we are very happy to help and advise on. Over the years many of these people also decided to pre-pay the funeral to save their family needing to worry about the burden of having to find funds when it may prove difficult.

Following the regulation of funeral plans in 2022 there has been an increase in fees being charged to both our new and existing clients.  The management fees of the fund providers have increased to cover the additional cost of regulation and in some cases these fees are being taken from funds in plans without the knowledge of the consumer, including from plans sold prior to the new regulation in 2022.

With all of the above in mind, we have decided to stop selling funeral plans for the foreseeable future. By withdrawing from our contractual arrangement with the funeral plan provider we have saved our existing clients from having monies withdrawn from their funds each year from this point forward until the plan is redeemed. Instead we will concentrate solely on providing our own service of making advance funeral arrangements, and then allowing our customers to make their own provision of funding for the funeral at the time of need. We will always advise our clients of an appropriate cost for a funeral at todays price to allow them to set their monies aside as they see fit. To this point we have had a very positive response to this way of preparing and arranging a funeral in advance.

We would also like to reassure everyone who already has a pre-paid funeral plan with us that the guarantees that your plan includes are secure and will continue to be in place until the time of need.

Pre-arrangements may especially suit:

  • Those with no-one capable or willing to make funeral arrangements at the time of their death.
  • Those who have definite wishes about aspects of their funeral and want to be sure that these wishes are known, so that they can be incorporated in the funeral.
  • Those who simply want to offer some guidelines to their survivors regarding their own funeral arrangements.

If you would like us to conduct your funeral at time of need, please contact us and we will be happy to discuss your wishes personally.
